Another waitlist - Chicago
Frankly, I am a bit surprised. I was pretty sure of getting the call, but as we know this process can be very random. Things that add to the surprise are:
1) During my feedback last year, I was told that my application was above average. They pointed out only two minor areas, and I improved upon them greatly during the last year.
2) My interviewer had asked me not to be disappointed if I get waitlisted, since GSB waitlists quite a few candidates, many of whom they would admit later, during round 1. While what he said was correct, I wonder if interviewer reommends the type of decision to the adcom i.e. Admit, Waitlist, Deny.
3) I have quite a bit of alumni support as well, and they have all written to adcom to support my candidature.
Maybe since I am in the US, they expect me to visit them this application season also. Anyway, I was leaning towards Tuck even before this decision. I will opt out of Darden's waitlist and maybe MAYBE Chicago's as well. What do you guys think?

Personally, if you are really excited about Tuck, I would say just go ahead w/ that and forget about the WL. If you are still really excited about Chicago, though, maybe wait it out and see what happens!

I think rungee said it right.
It is about which school you are more excited about. If Tuck is your top choice, you should move on.
It is a really really difficult decision to make though.

a. think about this after the holidays.
b. think of where you will be most happy, satisfied and where you'll most enjoy.
Don't withdraw from Chi if you are really excited about it.

What do you care abt Chi d00d? You got into Tuck! And I guess you are anyways more excited about Tuck, so dont sweat too much over Chi.
Granted Chi is a gr8 program, but you need to see where you fit in best. Tuck n Chi are very different schools, with different cultures. So once you decided which kinda culture suits you best, it will be an easy call for you :)

well, I think I concur with posts above - if you're happy with Tuck and it was indeed your dream school, then dont let Chicago WL spoil the fun! plus, WL is not a Ding, we all know that))

Thanks very much for your very kind and encouraging comments on my offers. It is the first congratulations from web. Thanks. Congratulations on your tuck admission. I also consider to apply tuck or Chicago in round 2 too, not decide yet. But do not feel discouraged by WL. Maybe sending some new update information will help to get off from WL. If you are not go to Darden anyway, you might ignore that, since multiple schools will consume your energy. Good luck to get off from WL.
